Dillon Kim Sanchez is a Bonderman Fellow and recent graduate from the University of Michigan. He earned his degree in sociology with honors in the spring of 2016. While at the university Dillon focused his study on the topics of race, political economy, and colonial/decolonial phenomena.
The Bonderman Fellowship offers graduating seniors from the University of Michigan to travel on a generous stipend to at least 6 countries in 2 regions of the world for at least 8 months. Dillon traveled from late August to late April 2016-2017. He traveled through Morocco, Hungry, Malaysia, Nepal, India, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico. Dillon returned to the U.S crossing the Piedras Negras- Eagle Pass border by foot, the same point his Great Grandfather did over 100 years ago.
